My First Tutorial!! Lip Balm Holder

My First Tutorial!! Lip Balm Holder published on No Comments on My First Tutorial!! Lip Balm Holder

My poor blog has been ignored for 3 months!!!! I think it is time to start paying attention to it again 🙂 I have been super busy making craft market items over the past while. I wanted a lip balm holder and came up with this after seeing a few other similar projects which were for small treat sized chocolate bars. I just changed a few things, changed a few dimensions and voila…stinkin’ cute project!

Cut pieces of DSP to dimensions shown. Round top 2 corners of larger piece of DSP and unscored piece of card stock.

Adhere dsp to card stock pieces. Punch hole in center of backing at 1 3/8 inches (I make one of these and use it as a template for the rest so I don’t have to measure every single one). Wrap outer box around the lip balm nest and adhere together snuggly but not too tight as you want the box to slide in and out easily. Apply adhesive to box along side with no dsp then adhere to bottom of backing. Embellish as desired!! Enjoy!

Is this not adorable??? I purchased Becky’s Fashionable Favorites tutorial and while the purses are super cute, I thought they would be smaller than they actually are. Soooo, I miniaturized it myself by printing out the template at 75%. The original template makes a 4 inch high purse. My miniaturized version makes a purse that is just a tad under 3 inches high. Love it!!!

Here are a couple more pics which show it (and a Flirty Flamingo friend) in front of an original sized purse body and with an ink refill bottle for size comparision. Totes adorbs!!

Strength & Prayers…The Same, But Different

I came across this card while looking for cards made with the new Strength & Prayers stamp set and immediately loved it! The first one (bottom in pic) I made almost the same but used a different image, choosing the mountains from In The Meadow. For the second one (top in pic), I reversed the colors and used the anchor image from Guy Greetings. I really like how they are the same, but yet, different.

I LOVE this card I made yesterday! It is based on one made by Jackie Bolhuis over at Klompen Stampers. I changed the color of the rose to yellow using So Saffron and Daffodil Delight inks and also changed the card base color, using So Saffron. I used Shimmery White cardstock for the flower and leaves. You can’t see the shimmer in the picture but believe me, it shimmers!! A lot! I am absolutely in love with how it turned out!
